Behind the Scenes of FBETV

Every morning before the bell rings, a dedicated crew of fifth graders is hard at work behind the scenes getting ready for the morning announcements. FBETV, the school's daily morning broadcast, brings the latest updates, weather reports and important announcements to every classroom.

The FBETV studio runs like a well-oiled machine, powered by four distinct student roles:

  • The Meteorologist: The meteorologist breaks down the day’s forecast and prepares the students for what kind of weather there will be for the day.

  • The News Anchor: The News Anchor guides the entire student body through the morning pledges with clarity and confidence.

  • The Camera Tech: Operating behind the lens, the camera tech controls the visual flow of the show. They ensure the lighting is right, everyone is in frame and they change the backgrounds for each new announcement.

  • The Assistant: The assistant acts as the glue of the production crew. They know how to do all of the jobs and get the crew ready to begin.

What makes FBETV special is its rotating cast. Every nine weeks, a fresh team of fifth graders steps into these roles.

This continuous rotation gives a wide group of students the chance to step outside their comfort zones, gain hands-on technical skills, build public speaking confidence and experience the fast-paced world of live media production.

By the time the broadcast wraps up each morning, the FBETV team hasn't just delivered news—they've set the energy for the entire school day, showing what student leadership and teamwork look like in action.
